I’ve got a friend who has no job and is trying to make a living off coding while, for 15+ years being totally unable to learn coding. Some of the things they make are surprisingly complex. Tho also, and the person mentioned here may do similarly, they don’t ONLY use ai. They use Github alot too. They make nearly nothing themself, but go thru github and basically combine large chunks of code others have made with ai generated code. Somehow they do it well enough to have done things with servers, cryptocurrency, etc… all the while not knowing any coding language.

last week some new up and coming coder was showing me their tons and tons of sites made with the help of chatGPT. They all look great on the front end. So I tried to use one. Error. Tried to use another. Error. Mentioned the errors and they brushed it off. I am 99% sure they do not have the coding experience to fix the errors. I politely disconnected from them at that point.
What’s worse is when a noncoder asks me, a coder, to look over and fix their ai generated code. My response is “no, but if you set aside an hour I will teach you how HTML works so you can fix it yourself.” Never has one of these kids asking ai to code things accepted which, to me, means they aren’t worth my time. Don’t let them use you like that. You aren’t another tool they can combine with ai to generate things correctly without having to learn things themselves.

edit: was baffled by the stifling and just researched and learned about Lemmy.ml
it all makes sense now. It is a Socialist Communist instance that censors those not aligned with them. Political leanings don’t bother me, but the censorship does so I will be avoiding anything Lemmy.ml in the future. They of course have a right to run their instance how they wish. peace out

and does sound like the corrupt normal way that the dairy industry would have their own person in charge of the investigation.

i assume tho that the profit from rbst milk caused the FDA to overlook something like that. Anyway, this is my point. When the FDA states something, i just assume they are doing it to sway the public for the sake of allmighty capitalism; and that them specifically going out of their way to say something actually implies the opposite is true.
✨🫐🌷🌱🌌🌠🌌🌿🪻🥭✨@sh.itjust.worksBanned from communityOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•what is your main goal for yourself for next year?English3·5 months agoin fact,
I made the base of what I’m typing to you in in that kotlin era where I’d be smoking constantly while progressing. So ProgressXWeed can definitely happen successfully and, in my case, it was thru setting hard limits and rules on which activities when. And then I get the extra high thought quality of the weed in the coding. Anyway, that’s how I did the weed and progress puzzle. Everyone’s journey is different tho. Time to code until at least 10 without looking at social media again. Bai
✨🫐🌷🌱🌌🌠🌌🌿🪻🥭✨@sh.itjust.worksBanned from communityOPto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•what is your main goal for yourself for next year?English3·5 months agoI didn’t smoke at all for a month a little while ago and eventually found a lack of creativity stalling my projects which is what brought me back to dabbing. BUT I only remember dreams if i haven’t smoked for like 8 hours before sleeping. So I feel a natural cycle of dab and generate ideas in the morning; and do more worklike parts and relax in the evening, then have great dreams having accomplished things.
The crucial thing I find for keeping up progress is blocking myself from activities: No videogames before noon (and now in a videogame lull I may have to make that rule for social media instead).
Tho now trying no weed late in day, historically when I’m on a roll I basically wake up knowing what part to code in, go to noon while purely coding, eventually reach a natural stopping point, and if I’ve really done that, I feel no shame in relaxing, historically with videogames and continuing smoking, as much as i want until i sleep. If coding left me with nonthinking parts like ‘copypaste and slightly modify all of these 100 functions’ I also save that for later day between or during games instead of the high creativity of the morning.
Especially in Kotlin getting in to digital keyboard(input method service) I’d code to noon and often just be so in to it I’d view other focuses as wastes and keep smoking every 2 hours while coding until like 4am.
Anyway, everyone is different and I am only sharing what works for me to achieve this same goal, but my suggestion is hard limits on the nonproductive activities taking up the time with the weed. My first step getting production on track wasn’t stopping weed but the activities eating infinite time and switching them to being rewards for good behavior. Now that I also want memorable dreams is when i am limiting when I smoke.
