Every now and then I find a comment that makes me full on belly laugh and I really appreciate it 😄
It’s a meme, it’s not actually saying not to use async:
Then I will not be purchasing your services, sir. Good day to you.
We could bring up the issues with health care, but they can’t afford it.
That’s clearly a doughnought
if you care enough about climate change to not have children you should
haveadopt children. This will reduce the population increase, while at the same time help children already in the world and being dealt a shit hand. It’s not an easy role to take, but if it makes one child happier then it’s worth it.
At that point just use PopOS. Why the hell would you use Ubuntu just to disable snaps?
activ8r@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•I asked them to delete my data, they said "Install our app"51·2 years agoThe individual responding isn’t the issue. They haven’t made any decision to respond like this, they are following a script.
The script is written by people who should know exactly what they are doing, so the result is either malice or negligence. Either way it’s unacceptable where the law is concerned.
This image reminds me of a junior dev who used fixed position for everything because he “couldn’t make it look like the picture otherwise”.
In JS a Boolean has 4 states.
true
false
undefined (where the key is set to undefined)
undefined (where the key doesn’t exist on the object)if (obj.value === true) { console.log(1); } else if (obj.value === false) { console.log(2); } else if ("value" in obj) { // key "value" is in the obj, but it is set to undefined console.log(3); } else { // key "value" is not in object console.log(4); }
You’re welcome.
since many site owners are uncomfortable running mystery code on our servers
And yet Node.js exists and flourishes.

activ8r@sh.itjust.worksto Privacy@lemmy.ml•I just want to say that I'm so happy that people are taking notice of privacy concerns in cars121·2 years agoThere are a few options I guess. If enough people notice then there may be more money in being the company that respects privacy and just charges more for the car up front.
It might even encourage more people to buy used instead of new.
Or some people might just decide they don’t need a car.Caring is the first step to actively doing something. The more people that know, the more that will care and the more people that will act. Gotta start somewhere.
I don’t think they are saying it’s bad. I think they just wanted an excuse to make me feel old.
activ8r@sh.itjust.worksto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•GAMERS, USING ONLY CAPITAL LETTERS, WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE VIDEO GAME QUOTE? SCREAM IT INTO THE VOID.7·2 years agoIT’S FROM THE SECOND ONE! FIRST ONE WAS GREAT, BUT THE SECOND ONE REALLY EXPANDED ON THE STORY!
activ8r@sh.itjust.worksto Linux@lemmy.ml•Why are random characters missing in my Debian virtualbox73·2 years agoYou have to hand wash them otherwise this happens. They use a super inferior glue to stick the letters on. Careful hand washing can keep it clean, but eventually the letters will just slide off.
This is a very important question I didn’t realise needed to be asked.
You’re not. Jetbrains users are just a lot more vocal. It’s like vegans or people who vape. They will let you know 😉
