There’s still good stuff out there. You just have to dig deeper, take risks, and you have to make the conscious decision to give it an active listen from front to back.

That’s a little to belittling, imo. I want to enable other people to explore different possibilities, but I don’t want to put them down for their beliefs.

Even if someone’s beliefs are harmful, confrontation and belittlement will just make them double down, methinks.

When the topic comes up, I keep it short and sweet: “to me, religion is just crowd control”.

What made you think that comment was necessary?

When camping, late at night, a buddy told another one of my buddies:

“If you can see my face, I can’t see anything”.

I thought it was hilarious and concise and it still sticks with me. If your flashlight is illuminating someone’s face, they are being blinded!

I can’t help but feel pity when I see a child or teenager up to their waist in materialism and appearances.

Some day, many of those children will have a brutal awakening when the realize that they can’t live the way they did growing up forever.
