No, in our calendar system there was year 1 BC followed by year 1 AD. So no zero. It’s just how they set it up, they’re human made ideas anyway. Many countries do not even use this system, for example it is currently year 2567 in Thailand and year 113 in North Korea.

Just this week I read the authorities had confiscated cryptocurrency valued at around 2 billion (!) euros from one of them currently still in jail.

Good to know, thanks!
I have Spotify, Tidal and YouTube Music. In my opinion Spotify’s apps and UI are way better. Also the recommendations are much better.
Desktop Tidal feels clunky and YT Music doesn’t have a desktop client at all.
All three mobile apps are just fine.
Many more people use Spotify so you’re probably more likely to find good playlist links for Spotify.
YouTube Music is included with YouTube Premium and Tidal has higher quality audio if you need that.
If you don’t care so much about the UI, recommendation engines etc, you can use any of them really. They have similar libraries and in the end they do the same thing - play music.

So much better. Perfect ear fit like no other. No cable mess. Instant auto connect between devices. I can ping them. And they’ve held up longer than any cable headphones as well, whose cables always break. And they get tangled. I’ve had the Airpods for three years now and they still hold battery for a full day use for me. Charging them fully takes like 15 minutes.
I’m sure there are similarly good headphones for other brands, this is just my own experience with Airpods.
In case I must have a cable for some reason I can plug in a tiny 3,5mm adapter through the charging port. So that’s not a problem either.
Also the phone has better water and dust resistance with one port less.

I’m like you, I also switch between many and Voyager sure is very Apollo like. And one of the apps that most consistently works.
Yeah, Liftoff allows for swipe anywhere also on comments. That’s how I personally want it, different behaviours depending on where you are is not very nice. You can still swipe left to upvote or save I believe, I am not sure if itself possible to change that yet.
The best thing would just be if one app managed to copy Apollo, it is the gold standard in usability.
I also think it’s very impressive with so many cool apps. Fantastic developers. But I kind of wish I had just one that was suiting.

It’s not perfect but if you do it regularly it helps A LOT. The dentist will have to clean up the trickier parts though (like the inside/back surfaces).
Vub@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is an item below 100 bucks that everyone should own?1·2 years agoIndeed, good point!
Me again, it doesn’t seem to work with swipe anywhere in the comment section though. Too bad :( I hope they’ll fix it because the app (Thunder) seems nice. Back to Liftoff…
We must not be on the same version then. In Memmy I can only swipe anywhere on the bottom menu bar to go back (and of course from the left edge of the screen like all apps).
Thanks for the tip. I’m on iOS. I didn’t know you could set swipe anywhere on the screen in Android to go back. That’s cool.
Thanks for the tip, trying it now and it seems nice!
Liftoff is the only app that does swipe anywhere to go back so it’s the only real usable alternative so far
Vub@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is an item below 100 bucks that everyone should own?20·2 years agoOne compact bag with a first aid kit, a knife, fire stone, rescue blanket and a turniquet. All really cheap, small and light and it can be life saving.
Vub@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What is an item below 100 bucks that everyone should own?22·2 years agoThat’s just gross to put some unnecessary crap in/at the bowl. Just have a normal sensor light anywhere else in the bathroom.
Probably someone outside of Europe, that was Commodores main market. Especially the Amiga generation.
