SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Fediverse@lemmy.ml•Has anyone defederated your instance? Introducing Defederation InvestigatorEnglish1·2 years agoLemmy devs may have controversal political views, but their software is written with a good intention. KiwiFarms on the other hand use it to target instances.
Let’s go even further than that. Let’s say that the most annoying people around the whole Fediverse are Hexbear. On the worst days, all they do is to organize to spam specific threads, which is indeed annoying, but that’s the extent of it. KiwiFarms is responsible for harassing people until they commit suicide for the heinous crime of being weird. Anyone aware of this who wants to associate with them has no place in civilized society.
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•Lemmy might, MIGHT have a small bias towards the leftEnglish2·2 years agoThat’s not Che, that’s Castro. Get your leftist history right.
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•Lemmy might, MIGHT have a small bias towards the leftEnglish1·2 years agoOk, but what if it wasn’t meat industry, but rather self-organized community eating of the rich?
Ants can be brutal. Some species of ants steal the eggs of different colonies to force them to work for their own colony. Sometimes, the kidnapped ants rebel and lay waste to the interior of the colony that kidnapped them if they think they can overpower them.
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•Combining two different internet debatesEnglish1·2 years agoWouldn’t that provoke all air in the Earth to get sucked to the Moon due to the difference in atmospheric pressure?
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•Make your existence an act of rebellionEnglish4·2 years agoSomething that helps too is not being surrounded by people who will discriminate you for being who you are.
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•As an owner of children, I approve this messageEnglish41·2 years agoIf you’re having kids with the express intent that they care for you when you’re old, you’re already doing it wrong.
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•As an owner of children, I approve this messageEnglish81·2 years agoI’m going to go with the very opposite opinion. Don’t fly with your kids, especially babies, but if you do, do it ONLY in business and first class. Working class people have enough shit without having to deal with your baby.
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•As an owner of children, I approve this messageEnglish213·2 years agoI’ve had to use canceling headphones for several hours a day for months due to asshole neighbours. Doing that provokes and exacerbates migraines. Using common sense and separating noise emitters from noise sufferers should always be the first step.
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What's some really unpopular opinion you have?3·2 years agoMy siblings in Christ just because you have an unhealthy relationship with porn doesn’t mean that everyone else does too. Stop projecting your problems into pathologizing everyone else.
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Open Source@lemmy.ml•It's time to take advantage of Reddit's declineEnglish5·2 years agoIf you want to share what you’re making, dip your toes into the water. Some communities will appreciate the self-promotion as long as you do it in a sensible way, and other won’t. Right now, some degree of self promotion is great because it’s new content, which the Fediverse needs.
SuddenDownpour@lemmy.worldto Open Source@lemmy.ml•It's time to take advantage of Reddit's declineEnglish7·2 years agoYeah, given the Fediverse’s much smaller amount of active users and its shorter history, it barely has niche communities nor a wealth of specific knowledge. Anyone who wants the Fediverse to be able to support that role that Reddit currently fulfills of non-corporate information has to know that there’s a very large road ahead and it needs active building.
The productive capabilities of the country haven’t ceased to exist. As long as that remains true, inflation is going to create wacky, uncertain, annoying situations, but it doesn’t have to provoke severe destitution as long as other safety nets are in place.
If we’re talking about X, you argue A, I counter with B, and instead of counter-arguing you just jump to a different point or framing, you just don’t want to admit that your premise didn’t hold much weight to begin with. “I want a system that rewards hard work” “This system doesn’t reward hard work” “Whatever, I want risk-taking people to be rewarded” You aren’t so much arguing as you’re rationalizing your position, rather than sincerely taking a look at your own argument when it’s challenged.
Investing isn’t working, and you were talking about working harder.

You guys skip the story? You don’t want to know what kind of negotiation did they go through for the AC technician to accept a carnal payment from the hot MILF??? Or how is he going to explain the situation to his boss???
Regardless of the debate of whether admins should be legally liable for not deleting unknown child abuse digital files,
You shouldn’t use your own experiences to make this generalisation, given that people working at agencies prosecuting pederasts often have to receive therapy or even leave the job after continued exposure.
Don’t you think it’s logical for someone to be worried about being vulnerable to being accused of what likely is, in many legal systems, a crime?
