I think I learned about knoppix from the TV show “the screen savers” in the early 2000s. Played with it a few times on old laptops, scanning for open Wi-Fi lol

I was saying that when it’s really rainy the clouds will block the solar, so I might need a gas power generator to keep my batteries going. We have only been here a few months so not really sure what to expect.
Right now we are very light on power, the most power hungry is our portable iceco fridge that uses about 40w of power on and off. We have mostly rechargeable lights and phones, and my laptop that is USB-C to charge.

We want to order water delivery first, then collect rain water after we build a roof over the RV.
We have solar and it’s been enough for us so far, but I know when it rains during monsoon season that I may need a generator.

Just a few months ago I bought some land and now live in an RV on the land. Tomorrow we drive about 7 hours round trip and get the last of our stuff from storage. So happy to not pay that rent anymore.
We have fresh air, beautiful views, and tons of space to work on projects, free electric from solar, and soon free water from rain. I can’t wait to start our garden soon, then it will be free groceries.
I never connected my TV to the internet, I use a computer, an Apple TV or other box like that, etc always using external hdmi devices.

Inside we found porn magazines with the pictures ripped out and placed on branches all over the inside of the “cave”. After that we always joked about the porn cave we found.

There was a choice between the AMD and Intel processors. I think I went with intel to have thunderbolt (I have an E-GPU enclosure if I ever need more power) but it does everything I throw at it.
Very happy with it. I can play AAA games, it’s portable, touch screen is nice, has a touch pad too. Charges with USB-C which is super handy for me.

Retro_unlimited@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some tech products that you want that you can't seem to find?7·3 months agoI have a GPD laptop with a tiny screen, it’s good enough to run most games. I changed the no name NVMe to a Samsung and it’s way more reliable and faster. Also runs Linux now. Built in game controller works well for most games (shows up as Xbox controller or a mouse using a switch).

I also have the xreal glasses, they are great (as long as you keep your head still). I really enjoy them for playing games. Lots of people use them for movies and tons of other uses. It’s like having a huge OLED tv on the wall.
