And why would the machines need humans to harness energy anyway? Aren’t there an almost infinite number of species on this earth that could serve the same purpose without the risk of them waking up and overthrow you? I imagine pigs don’t care much about anything and you could pretty much scrap the whole Matrix thing.

But do they hate the guy? As much as Bill Gates?
It’s like when Trump shat on veterans and the rightwingers didn’t care.
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Totally logical and expected functionality11·1 year agoMy point was it’s a myth that MacOS is simple or efficient. Basic stuff is either overly complicated or straight up impossible.
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Totally logical and expected functionality11·1 year agoI know but I am having issues with Y because of Y. I wouldn’t have those issues with X.
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Totally logical and expected functionality11·1 year agoI was complaining about MacOS and you brought up Linux for some reason. I am aware I can do anything on Linux I can on Windows. I’ve used it briefly from time to time and it has a very windows-like work flow for basic stuff. MacOS doesn’t.
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Totally logical and expected functionality1·1 year agoLinux isn’t MacOS.
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•Totally logical and expected functionality2·1 year agoI’ve been using windows PCs for 25 years and struggle with the damn Mac at work. The usability of the thing is just utter garbage. Nothing is better but everything is different just… because. I’ve wasted so much time learning the fucking thing and still nothing just works.
Want to take a screenshot? Press 3 keys. You better remember them because it’s the most random fuckery imaginable. You like the cut & paste shortcuts of windows? We’ve something similar except it doesn’t work everywhere for some reason. This shit goes on and on.
I don’t know why Apple hates a proper Taskbar. I miss it everytime I struggle to find one of my open applications. Which is always.
But what do you do instead? Take a look at when some parts of the world would see their sunrise and sunset if all the world switched to winter time or summer time forever. What works at one place, results in a crazy daylight cycle in another.

Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Open Source@lemmy.ml•Organic Maps: An Open-Source Maps App That Doesn't Suck3·2 years agoWait what happened to maps.me? I still have it installed but barely use it but fondly remember the days hiking with it or exploring new towns.

Sad funny. Maybe it’s just hard for you to remember a few lines back or something.
I don’t know why I am arguing with some random internet trollish child. I’ll need to work on that and ignore more.
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Gaming@lemmy.ml•Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'1·2 years agoYou mean like a game needs to offer more than dull enviroments to be not boring although the astronauts on the moon didn’t seem to be bored on the dull moon?
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Gaming@lemmy.ml•Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'1·2 years agoAnd that’s why CoD hasn’t you going on patrol missions for hours and digging trenches or guard duty. A realistic war game would be boring as fuck.
You know CoD isn’t realistic at all, right?
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Gaming@lemmy.ml•Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'1·2 years agoExactly! Now go tell Todd that his game isn’t real and therefor his example “astronauts on the moon weren’t bored although the moon is dull” doesn’t make any sense.
It’s like you’re getting there without actually ever getting there.
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Gaming@lemmy.ml•Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'1·2 years agoIt’s a reason why the astronauts weren’t bored on the moon. The fear of death. Games don’t have that and that is one of the reasons games need to be interesting and can’t be dull like the moon. I’ll just rephrase the same thing over and over for you. I do see some things may appear challenging to understand for some.
Read the title of the article and you may be able to piece things together: Bethesda says most of Starfield’s 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because ‘when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there’ but ‘they certainly weren’t bored’
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Gaming@lemmy.ml•Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'1·2 years agoDude… You’re even agreeing with me without realizing it. My point is, because a game can’t create tension by threatening you with real death, it needs to be interesting in some way.
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Gaming@lemmy.ml•Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'1·2 years agoYou do know this threat is about some dev saying the first guys on the moon weren’t bored although there’s basically just sand and rocks to be found? And that because of this it’s fine most planets in a game are baren and uninteresting?
The Bethesda guy compared the game to RL. I am just pointing out why this makes no sense.
Hasuris@sopuli.xyzto Gaming@lemmy.ml•Bethesda says most of Starfield's 1000+ planets are dull on purpose because 'when the astronauts went to the moon, there was nothing there' but 'they certainly weren't bored'1·2 years agoNo shit? That was the point
Astronauts aren’t bored in space because they’re busy trying not to die. games don’t kill you when you fuck up or something goes wrong
A download manager would be nice…
