The main reason my wife uses it is because the recommendations are the best. Feel like you have to do more self searching here.

Alone I guess? In solitude. At least I wouldn’t be bothering anyone else.

I can set it up with my current carrier easily?1·4 months agoOh I’m saying this because I personally did this from an iPhone XS with a physical sim to a new iPhone with only eSIMs, so at least in my experience this works.

They don’t take highways and can vary in price, maybe more expensive on average. Can sometimes pick up and drop off a bit farther than a human driver would.
My wife like that you can change the temperature and there’s no pressure to talk to anyone.

I like to catch wildlife but it’s just useful to have since the range is not easily achievable by cell phones yet.

Bug reports from large manufacturers are absolutely taken seriously. Customers usually never see this interaction.
I would say maybe 1990-2010 was really a dominant time for Windows and that was also when they were actively improving, but now they have plenty of competition. It’s just that people have moved away from desktops. Mobile platforms are now an existential threat. Fewer and fewer people are buying desktops to begin with. Maybe Microsoft has given up on desktops and that’s why they’re making Windows worse.
CookieOfFortune@lemmy.worldto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Beyond enshittification, why does tech oftentimes suck?66·7 months agoI’m not sure Windows is a good example here since they’re historically well known for backwards compatibility and fixing obscure bugs for specific hardware.
Whereas Linux famously always had driver support issues.
This was my splurge purchase when the startup I was in got acquired.

Otherwise you get teams adding and modifying other teams code and you end up with the monolith anyways.
If it’s something I don’t really want to do then it’s 1.5x my current salary assuming 8 hours of work per day.
CookieOfFortune@lemmy.worldtoGeneral Programming Discussion@lemmy.ml•Are microservices really the future?5·10 months agoIt’s been said before that microservices solve organizational problems. When you’re forced to go through official APIs, each team becomes responsible for their own connections to other teams. If you’re at a scale where a few people can be responsible for the entire system there’s really no benefit.
The problem is when medicine is for profit, you really do end up with that feeling when doctors are rushed to get you out of the door because they need to see ten patients an hour. When you’re the product it’s harder to build that trust.
It was probably better before when family doctors actually had a relationship with your family.
