I’m not really an Apple product person, but I still like watching their presentations to see what sort of new stuff is coming up.

I think the most anticipated thing this year is their mixed reality headset, I’m interested to see if it’ll really be as expensive as insiders have been predicting.

Third party app store and payment providers in Europe.

Support for self-hosted over-the-air backups (without Itunes) as an alternative to cloud backups.

Q&A with hard hitting questions from Kara Swisher.

    Edit: and a poney

I would look forward to xr headsets, if I hadn’t seen the expected prices for such units. I think the most affordable thing to look forward to is iOS, and macOS. (specifically the version number change)

The headset announced today seems more aimed at industrial and commercial use like the HoloLens, and the price reflects that.

If the rumor mill is to be believed, a cheaper more consumer-oriented device is expected to be announced sometime after the Vision Pro hits the market.

Pretty amazing tech, now that it’s been shown. I’m sure it will be a 3-5 year arc, where the price goes from $3500 down to $1500.

I’m in for the headset. Either it does the apple thing of giving shape to an unfocused consumer tech product (media players, smartphones, super thin laptops, tablets) or we get an amazing train wreck.

Best case escenario apple sends every manufacturer in a wild goose chase again. Lots of cheap parts flood de market and open hardware headsets become accesible.

I’ll be watching today, hoping for mention of any M3 chips and of course, the VR announcements. I’m interested in how they’re gonna market such an expensive implementation - if it hits the $2000-3000 that people are saying, I think they’re gonna have to pitch in to the business market; or is Apple gonna try to have an iPad moment and change everything???

I don’t have high hopes… while I enjoy my $400 Meta Quest 2, it only gets use playing Pokerstars VR - I can’t imagine that I’d want to do much m0re in VR.

I do want to find out what they’re doing with XR, although I do not see myself purchasing whatever device it is. It’s almost certain to be over-priced.
