Does anyone else lose wifi connection constantly?
Been using ubuntu for 2 years, downloaded all the updates and whatnot. For the past year, it has lost wifi connection frequently and websites fail to load. I have to manually refresh the page and then it works. On 2 phones this doesnt happen. Firefox - not sure if it's firefox or ubuntu that is causing the issue

To type in letters with accents, i’m suppose to use a ‘compose’ key. My keyboard doesnt have a compo
Changing keyboard layouts also sounds annoying considering it's not like i'm entering accents everyday On windows it was like ctrl + alt + numpad 1 + . for accents or something, no compose key required

Issues with nVidia 515 propietary drivers + Fix
Drivers updated to newest and wouldn't work. Fallback drivers with 800x600 and not detecting monitors. Changed drivers to 515 *open kernel* and it seems to work again. No idea how it works with gaming.

Of snaps and stratagem - Jussi Pakkanen
I upgraded from 22.04 Development to 22.04 LTS and didn't face any broken dependency issue with the deb -> snap migration. I might add that the migration could have been a bit more transparent. Right now unless the snap package is manually blocked, it'll be silently reinstalled and Firefox will be silently transitioned unless you are looking closely at the apt logs. Also Firefox profiles weren't migrated but [Mozilla is working on that](https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1730530). The snap version has been working fairly well for me other than the known issue about cold start taking several seconds. If someone doesn't want snaps there's the option of downloading the [Mozilla build](https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/99.0.1/) or using the [Mozilla team PPA](https://balintreczey.hu/blog/firefox-on-ubuntu-22-04-from-deb-not-from-snap/) or installing the [Flathub](https://flathub.org/apps/details/org.mozilla.firefox) version, also maintained by Mozilla.

Then again, if you are on Ubuntu 21.10 or 20.04 LTS an early taste is just a **sudo do-release-upgrade -d** away. The only bug I have experienced is having to log in twice, the first time seems to fail after 3 seconds no matter what.

Is it worth upgrading to 21?
I'm currently on 20, I'm a noob so I usually stick with 'stable' versions, which might be what 20 is since it has LTS?

Can I get ubuntu to exit a frozen task quicker?
When my relic of a computer freezes (which happens a lot) it'll be due to like a firefox page getting jammed. Eventually the computer asks if I want to force close the application. But i've never managed to get it to register my 'force close' click selection once my keyboard inputs also freeze. I would like it if when ubuntu notices a problem, that it asks me to force close the app quicker, before my keyboard inputs completely freeze. Is it possible to get something similar to this working?

Why is Ubuntu packaging so shit?
Of course, that presupposes that you agree with me that it is shit. Okay, well, if you don't, you don't. Look. When I install a new system I do *not* want a screen reader. I do *not* want fonts for umpteen different languages that I didn't even know existed, let alone be able to read or write in them. Yes, all of those people that need those things should be able to install them, I don't disagree with that at all, but why the hell are they foisted on the rest of us, gobbling up disk space for zero reason? It gets worse. I'm not allowed to uninstall ubuntu-advantage-tools *despite not having Ubuntu Advantage*, because if I do so I'll find that I'd lose the ubuntu-minimal package, amongst other things, which is "used to help ensure proper upgrades" and you're warned you shouldn't unindstall it. Of course ubuntu-advantage-tools is just one thing, there are... let's just say "many" packages which you just couldn't live without (because if you tried to, a whole bunch of packages that you actually couldn't live without would be uninstalled as well. Like the GNU C pre-processor. Why? If I'm not doing C programming I don't want it. It's that simple. But great gobs of the system apparently rely on it. Or gcc. A running system relies on a fcking compiler. F. R. O.

Is it safe to remove this lock on /var/lib/apt/lists/lock?
Sudo apt update is failing. It says: ``` E: Could not get lock /var/lib/apt/lists/lock. It is held by process 1408 (packagekitd) N: Be aware that removing the lock file is not a solution and may break your system. E: Unable to lock directory /var/lib/apt/lists/ ``` ps aux | grep '[a]pt' gives me: `root 1023 0.0 0.2 134896 9436 ? Ssl 11:56 0:00 /usr/sbin/thermald --systemd --dbus-enable --adaptive` adaptive is highlighted, specifically the apt part. If it's safe to remove, i'm planning on using: sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/lock

It freezes up randomly. So far when I use firefox. The entire computer freezes and it has to be powered off/on. Is it possible the plane damaged something? Any fixes?
