I mean a slaver does work, it’s just that job shouldn’t exist in the first place.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do the vast majority of people on Lemmy seem to HATE AI?
1·14 days agoMaybe I should say “critical of algorithms”. The point is it’s not engineered to "maximize engagement "

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do the vast majority of people on Lemmy seem to HATE AI?
15·15 days agoPut the AI critique aside for a moment. Many people on lemmy dont like algorithms managing their feed. There’s probably a big overlap between people who are pervasively sensitive to dark algorithms and people who perceive AI as a dark algorithm parlor trick .

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•When is it justified to use AI-generated images?
2·21 days agoWe wouldn’t even call it AI anything then. The whole framing as it is now is to undermine creative work. It’s hard to imagine how it would even remotely resemble what it is now, a cold reading con.
To deny the difference is to deny what makes the spectacle compelling

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Why do Democrat supporters keep forgetting atrocities committed by their leaders?
5·29 days agoI think for many Accelerationism is speaking towards the capital transformations of society,
not the decline of empire. Even so, Trump is the accelerationist choice

8·29 days agoEmotions aside, is their assessment of events incorrect? Harris is a more sane war hawk, recognizing that doesn’t make you an accelerationist.

That’s your choice to make and passing judgment doesn’t seem to have any material consequence. Compare that to a Palestinian, why should they care what kind of asshole we elect to office, when they care about whether that asshole will keep giving money to Isreal? They have different material conditions but I would not disparage their values over that choice. This idea that a choice is universally good or bad regardless of context is used to police our history, not just our voting. It feels very liberal coded.
This. I can understand an American not understanding the history of a symbol, the confederate flag comes to mind, but the eagerness to murder to make sure America is top dog is big red flag.
When exactly did fascism stop in the states? Was it after the Civil War ended slavery but didn’t give blacks the right to vote? Or when we gave them the right to vote but also sent their men to die in Vietnam? Or did it end with the USSR while we supported the genocide in Palestine? Fascism in the states exists on a spectrum and voting is often choosing which direction it will creep towards.
Not knowing history can do that sometimes
I don’t really take stalk in how people vote in a liberal democracy, its built to dismantle class consciousness. Vote however your internal values and material conditions dictates, but please don’t act like voting will save us from fascism.
But also, anyone who isn’t apart of the one true Vanguard is a liberal or a fascist.
Bureaucrats are assigned some of the poorest families and their ability to get a raise depends on improving the income of those families.
Pretty sure my kid is going to be a billionaire because I read “Rich Dad”, why do you hate billionaires?
Doubt it will happen but if it did they will blame the inevitable bubble pop and depression on socialism.
Capitalism is not some mysterious being, its a phenomenon and it is fundamentally incompatible with democracy. If the workplace was democratized then you would not have capitalism.

Please correct my ignorance, but didn’t Marx think Capitalism wouldn’t last this long?
