A bit how the governments doesn’t build more houses to meet the demand and make it more affordable but instead make anti homeless benches etc. Almost like it would stop people being homeless

Wolfie@lemm.eeto Linux@lemmy.ml•My week with Linux: I'm dumping Windows for Ubuntu to see how it goesEnglish1·12 days agoUnsure. Just know there was some telemetry on by default, which isn’t particularly fun for us into privacy.
Wolfie@lemm.eeto Linux@lemmy.ml•My week with Linux: I'm dumping Windows for Ubuntu to see how it goesEnglish2·12 days agoI can understand that. Plus they had some tracking or telemetry of sorts implemented. Think it had ‘balloon’ in the name. Unsure… Quite disappointed ^^
Wolfie@lemm.eeto Linux@lemmy.ml•My week with Linux: I'm dumping Windows for Ubuntu to see how it goesEnglish4·12 days agoI got disappointed in Ubuntu. You had to use ‘Ubuntu Pro’ to get the latest updates… Bullshit :c Linux should not have a paywall in regards to security! I will test out Arch and see how it goes. Especially now when windows 10 loses support in October 16th

Because it’s not Windows. So fed up with it. Used Debian. But as of late gotten annoyed with them and everything seems to lead me towards Arch. Dunno. We’ll see. Just a bit scary to switch as I’m used with apt and not Pacman or whatever it’s called :P Need to learn to make backup on the system in case something breaks etc
Wolfie@lemm.eeto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Do alternative frontends for twitch exist (like pstube/freetube/piped for YT)?English51·2 months agoI tend to use GrayJay. But i’ve never used it for twitch. I do however see there is a beta version for twitch on the app ^^ (it’s a all in one app so it does support YouTube, oddysey, kick and basically anything you can think of)

Wolfie@lemm.eeOPto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Need an affordable residential and secure proxyEnglish2·3 months agoBecause they don’t allow VPNs and for some weird reason, they consider it cheating. Got banned once, but that was during a time I got in with a VPN. For some reason, my steam ID wasn’t banned. But more of me and my IP in combination. Back then, I could just switch origin IP. Now its jot really possible and quite annoying ^^;
Wolfie@lemm.eeOPto Privacy@lemmy.ml•Need an affordable residential and secure proxyEnglish22·3 months agoHmm… All I can think of is doing this and borrowing a neighboring towns internet. Like a blackbox xD which doesn’t sound legal.
Doing in within my own network, would not change my IP. Doing it within a family members network… Well I don’t want to share their IP either :P
Or do you mean like one of those free website hosting providers?
Amazing! Will fiddle around with this as a temporary fix. Wish I could mark some comments as being the ‘solution’ and highlight them in some way. Much appreciated!

Wolfie@lemm.eeto Privacy@lemmy.ml•YouTube doesn't let me watch without turning off my VPN?English17·3 months agoI use MullvadVPN and i have never encountered this issue before. Hopefully won’t need to either.
I’ll tell you another weird detail I found out today… A lot if my coworkers had their uBlock terminated by the chrome browser. I use Ubuntu with chromium because reasons and somehow, my uBlock is still active and working o.o it has not been terminated and I still get rid of those nasty YouTube ads.
Just a normal internal website. Imagine there is a comment section. You press the input box and can type within it. Then press save :)

Its jot the parents responsibility to be apart of their kids lives and bring them up properly. That responsibility have been pushed onto the governments so that they can leverage it against peoples right to privacy
Wolfie@lemm.eeOPto Privacy@lemmy.ml•[SWE] Swedish government wants a back door in SignalEnglish21·4 months agoNot only USA, but Chains and “Great” Britain as well. You saw how they magaged to get access to all encrypted data stored on Apple’s servers within UK.
The politicians in power in Sweden, currently, explicitly said no to chat control 2.0 during the election process. They get voted… And now they pushed it into the EU and are supporting it. Terrible.
Wolfie@lemm.eeOPto Privacy@lemmy.ml•[SWE] Swedish government wants a back door in SignalEnglish40·4 months agoI have gotten a few family members and friends to use signal as I stated to them that this is the only way to get ahold of me. Other than this, you won’t. And because of me, they decided to do so :P some haven’t, but its up to them to decide.
Wolfie@lemm.eeto Privacy@lemmy.ml•UK trying to pass law to let AI take anything on internet unless you opt out.English361·5 months agoI’m not from England, but damm this is absolutely terrible. England already has a LOT of cameras everywhere to track people. They work hard to try and track people everywhere. Hence why this is scary cause this might actually go through due to how anti-privacy they seem to be.
Ooh, one more thing. Reddit has two different blocks. One is this network security one. This is client side and therefore, uBlock can bypass it with ease. There’s another one reddit has, but its server side and it shows up if malicious activity have exited from the same public IP your VPN is originating from. So simply changing your ‘origin’ is a solution in this case. However, the latter type of block is much more rare
You… Are a solid dude. We need linux people like you that doesn’t fight other Linux users just because what distro someone else enjoys. But actually can explain why certain distros are good or bad in a logical manner. Even offering to assist. Fair play to you <3
