Ever tried asking in Ubuntu forums for help for Mint, Pop or any other derived distribution?

It might be toxic but I understand if people that donate their free time to help others get tired of being asked for help for problems that were caused by the offspring distribution. I did not follow it nowadays but back in the days this was the same with Manjaro which caused issues every now and then by holding back some upgrades.

Agreed. My answer was in the assumption that it’s about desktop apps as the OP mentioned Electron.

Go with one of the ready to use systems. Flatpak, Snap, AppImage. Snap is largely Ubuntu Ecosystem, Flatpak is independent. AppImage is an option if you do not need/want a Sandbox.

Stay away from Docker and LXC for this use case (graphical applications), they are much more work to get going.

Honestly I doubt it that Deckard will change that much. First the basics must be fixed. My Index is also laying around collecting dust. Worked okay-ish at first but is mostly unusable at the moment.

If you use pipewire instead of pulse audio then you can install pipewire-jack and then use any of the jack patchbay applications to rewire the channels. Currently I use qpwgraph but there are several options.

I use an ad-hoc while loop in a shell with inotifywait to wait for changes in the watched directory and then scp it.

No blinking caps-lock but graphics driver problems which result in mouse hangs every couple of seconds if a second monitor is connected. Count this as +1 to “6.4 has problems”

I find systemd-boot so much easier to use and it’s configuration is much smaller. So maybe consider to switch (if you are on UEFI).
