JSAUX are teasing a transparent front shell replacement for the Steam Deck, making an atomic purple Steam Deck a possibility.

Will it have the same adhesive as the original screen?

Awesome, I would love this but honestly I fear opening my Deck and having to move the screen to the new shell.

And I didn’t knew there was a Steam Deck community in Lemmy, nice 🙂

Might be easier to just buy a screen on iFixit and leave your original screen be. The replacement screen comes with fresh adhesive AFAIK.

True, it make the whole process pricier tho.

Better start going going over the ifix it shell swap page. 103 steps just to remove everything and im pretty it’s 103 steps in reverse to put back together. I’ll report back, cause I am crazy enough to try this.

Looks awesome, definitely want to get a full transparent Deck. Might be a good time to revisit my RGB mod too.
