Okay, but now having acknowledged the fact, what do we do about it? Fighting back gets us in danger. No matter what we do, we get tarred with the same brush as the government.
So, how can we best benefit from the death, destruction, and oppression?
Resist in ways you can, not everyone is an armed revolutionary. You can learn and educate people, shelter people, provide services that are necessary, etc. Or at least malicious compliance.
That’s not a way to benefit from the situation. That’s a way to get yourself and your family in deeper shit. That’s resistance rather than leaning in.
Sounds like you’re suggesting collaborating with fascists for profit, which in addition to being disgusting is actually suicidally dangerous in the long run. Mass resistance is the safer option.
Quit our jobs and brew moonshine in the mountains
That’s my wife’s family, not mine as such.
Quit our jobs and grow weed in the swamp?
Quit our jobs and grow heroin in the fields
I mean the black pill take is that if the threat of death is what is stopping you from making things better then things will continue to get worse until things are so bad you’d rather risk your life
The real winning move was not to elect the fucker. Danger was never avoidable. Its not about whats dangerous, or scary anymore. Its about future generations not growing up under fascism. Its time to plant trees you may not sit under.
It’s time to protect yourself first. Future generations, if they must exist, will have to fend for themselves. Whatever they grow up under, I know I don’t want to be under a gravestone before my time.
This is one of the most garbage takes I’ve read here. Fight for those who cannot yet fight. If I were to die resisting this regime, then my time would indeed have come and I could not ask to give more to humanity.
You and I see humanity and the future very differently.
There is no humanity without empathy. That is precisely what this regime aims to destroy.
