Gaming@beehaw.org•After 23 years, developer reveals he snuck a cheat code past Sony that turns a cult-classic horror game into a godsend for retro enthusiasts
5·3 年前I doubt it, it’s much easier to mod the console. Or just use a boot disc (or whatever those were called, I had the chip mod, so I don’t remember, but my friend used to have the disc which he had to insert before playing a pirated game).

World News@beehaw.org•Prague shooting: Gunman dead after killing more than 15 at Charles University
4·3 年前Because it’s quite common there? I’m not really sure what’s the confusion here. Is it common enough in the US that it’s infamous for it? Yes. Does that somehow make a shooting in a different country their fault? No.

World News@beehaw.org•Prague shooting: Gunman dead after killing more than 15 at Charles University
4·3 年前No one is blaming US here. It was obviously the murderer’s fault. I don’t know how’d you come to the conclusion I’m blaming US. I was just mentioning the fact that it’s pretty common in the US while it’s not at all common here (or in Europe in general). And I always said that I’m quite relieved that these things are not happening here and that no one’s getting inspired by the US shootings. I think this sentiment is quite common among Europeans.

Science@beehaw.org•WHO asks China for more data on respiratory illnesses outbreakEnglish
2·3 年前Possibly people would over time stop treating them like enemies, if they actually behaved like allies. The whole world is (very slowly) moving away from any dependence on China.
If they actually cooperated with the rest of the world instead of trying to take advantage of it while slowly planning how to take over Asia, they’d have it easier.

15·3 年前It’s so weird watching you guys come up with reasons why cooperating with the world about a new disease is actually bad.

2·3 年前Witcher 3. For like sixth time. I think I might need some help, because I’ve bought around 5 games last month and I didn’t even open them.

1·3 年前Well, not sure, honestly, might also stop him from speaking with you. Regardless of the outcome I don’t really recommend violence, but you do you 🤷

1·3 年前Nope, just a method of someone who values his privacy. I’ve done this and I’m quite happy with the result. Sure, I’ve lost a person or two, but that’s an acceptable price for not giving Meta data it does not need.

Technology@beehaw.org•Are people reading articles before posting them?
2·3 年前Well, to be fair, I’m fixing the issue for myself. I thought it might be nice to share with people who’d appreciate it, but first and foremost I’m writing the software that I want to use myself (which is true for my other bots or Lemmy-related software as well).

7·3 年前I think it’s the one you see the most, that stitches sentences together. Using AI for this is very unwise, eventually it’s gonna make something up and it’s gonna straight up lie.
In my opinion the bot does a better job than most actual people would do when summarizing. It’s not perfect and it will never be, but I’m quite ok with how it works.
