Open Source@lemmy.ml•PeerTube mobile app : discover videos while caring for your attention
8·1 year agoIt’s important to note that currently it’s in early beta, and in order to avoid playstore and apple store issues you only have access to a curated list of peertube instances.
So for example you can’t connect it to your personal instance ATM… This will be available likely on a fdroid version or more widely after they manage to jump the official stores hurdles.
PikaOS looks cool, never heard of it, but it had me a Debian optimized hardware and software support:). What’s the hyprland version?
Personally, I don’t this will have much success because titok is driven by algorithms and influencers…it’s built for lazy scrolling consumers that follow the latest trends. People that use it don’t care about the data privacy or ethics of it, they just want to know what the latest song or dance craze is … Add to that ease of use to add graphics and music tracks. Also reach is everything.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Ford Chairman & CEO Jim Farley Wakes After Decade-long Nap, Shocked By China's EVs - CleanTechnica
4·1 year agoSubsidies are another way to say State planning, which is how you direct the “free market”. No capitalist, which includes China, will “innovate” without being baited with money.
There are massive subsidies in the US as well, but these go into the pockets of the CEOs and political/financial class. If this were to happen in China they’d go missing like Jack Ma of Alibaba until he got his head right.
Great news, thx to all developers/contributors for your efforts!!

Well that’s cool:). Remove the profit motive/surplus goes a long way to slow down evil.

As I understand your neighbour wants to remove fluoride, can he get an under tap filter that only removes those types of chemicals? If not, why not simply buy mineral/spring water. Where I live it’s the same price.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What is the most noob friendly video editing software on Linux?
11·2 years agoKdenlive is likely your best bet. Even if u have issues here and there, in the long term you’ll be happy you stuck with it. It has very active development and is shaping up to be the most used foss video editor.

This allows recording? I don’t see how.
