Lockups start expiring next month. They’ve still only floated less than 5% of the company! Buckle up buttercup.

They spent a trillion dollars on it. It can’t be a slightly better search and a way for schoolchildren to cheat. It has to be the next industrial revolution, otherwise their investment was not justified.

China has a two minutes hate every few months involving Japan and some random company.

I remember watching Bond movies as a kid and wondering “where did that evil supervillian get all these henchmen?” Turns out the answer all-along was “linkedin.”.

I think if you unpack the international and you’re in index you’re going to find yourself still heavily invested in AI (TSMC for instance).
I don’t have the option in my 401K to choose to invest in sectors. My only real options when it comes to equities are for instance, large cap vs mid cap. Mid-cap would exclude nVidia but I bet it’ll just end put putting me in even trashier AI stocks. As the bubble has heated up I’ve slowly been moving my retirement out of equities because there’s no real way for me to select “non-AI equities.” I’m down to about 20% equities now, down from 80% before I started messing with it.

Look up how much of your 401K is in nvidia stock right now. It may surprise you.

Why not require a login to browse?

People started allowing scrapers because they needed to get in the search engine indexes to get traffic. But getting scraped being a win-win for the scraper and scrapee is long past. Now it’s completely parasitic. The search engines are even going out of their way to not send traffic to organic results.
I wonder if it’s time to start to create an un-indexable “shadow internet.” Block all scraping even the search engines. Maybe put up login walls. How will people find your website? We’ll have to go back to word of mouth, link rings, or the like.
Gen Z’s brains are too roasted by shorts to sit through an entire 90 minute movie.

And at the end of his bubble we’ll have buildings full of obsolete GPUs that can’t even be used to play GTA because they have no display ports.

Carbon capture is fake it doesn’t matter where it happens. The only real way to get carbon out of the atmosphere is don’t put it there. Every “carbon capture” technology ever invented relies on people ignoring externalities which makes the whole thing non-viable. As @ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml points out the exteranlity here is that it needs ammonia as an input. Ammonia is in short supply globally right now due to the strait of hormuz. Why would the Iran war affect the supply of Ammonia? (Hint: it comes from oil).

The Fox Family Institute for Poultry Studies determines that hen house doors should be left open

I suspect what the speculators are getting wise to, is that it’s not going to be a good long term move as a weapons manufacturer to tie yourself so publicly to an increasingly unpopular regime that’s in the middle of losing a humiliating war.
Meanwhile Lockheed and General Dynamics stay winning cause they don’t have a coked-up CEO with a twitter addiction.

Arguably the Spruce Goose was an (unintentional) ground effect vehicle because its one flight didn’t leave the ground affect regime.
But the USSR made tons of cool ground effect vehicles.

I don’t think AI is capable of this kind of human interaction:

Full circle. After a big orgy of trying to make ever larger word guessing engines write software we rediscover that computers are fundementally logic machines (and also word guessers were never intelligent)

NVidia’s Jensen Huang has a bag he wants you to hold.

Perhaps, but I suspect that Wikipedia was looking for a reason to ban them to avoid problems with the ADL and US Government…
DeLoreans are way cooler than these cars. The cybertruck is a Pontiac Aztek designed by a toddler. It’s ugly from virtually every angle
