It’s very helpful for neurodivergent people - helps you figure out who you are and what you want, how you think, learn and work best, identify your obstacles and help you overcome them, understand your neurodivergency and compare it to how neurotypical people think. It’s fantastic at generating ideas that you then test out. The ideas that it gives you are based on how you actually function, so often times they’re valid.

11·9 months agoI use credit cards cus I get cash back and it’s also how I manage my budget - each major category has its own credit card so I can easily see how much I spend on each category per month and per year.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Does the average american, when naming a price of any given item, takes into account taxes or disregards it?English
9·9 months agoI think in pretax numbers and just expect the final price to be higher - how much higher I have no idea because not everything is taxed. It was a major pain in the ass when I only had cash cus I never knew how much to take with me. Now I only use credit cards so it’s much better.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Lemmy, what's the meaning, or point if you prefer, of life? I know 42, but I'm serious. Nothing lasts, everything is meaningless - are we just amusing ourselves until death?English
3·9 months agoYou get to create your own meaning. It becomes challenging when your meaning isn’t the default societal milestones, in the western world it’s - college, promotion, marriage/kids, house, retirement, death. If that progress doesn’t resonate, then it means that you have to connect to yourself on a deeper level to figure out your purpose/your life theme.
My purpose is organizing my internal world for self alignment, I do it through self expression using art, language and diagrams. I live for self expression.

It’s extra unsettling when a 50+ year old commits suicide. This was someone who had a thriving career, loved by millions, had a family and kids. It just shows that you have to take care of your mental health. It’s not going to magically get better with age.
