KeePass DX/XC. Offline, you can choose to sync database in any cloud way you want, create offline backups, does not matter.

To create a vacuum for monopolising the web via Android, ChromeOS and web standards manipulation and ad blocker restrictions via Chromium/Chrome based browsers. They have largely won.

Mint. After Windows 10 happened, I jumped ship from Windows 7 and adopted Ubuntu 16.04 --> 18.04 for 5 years, then last month I freshly installed 22.04 since I stick to LTS. Jumped to Mint in 2 weeks.

I use just one Snap, rest are native, and a dozen or so Flatpaks and about a dozen Appimages.

I will not lie, these few years, from 2015 Gamergate to Trump to HongKong to Xinjiang to COVID to Ukraine, are one of the most insane years in all of human history, because of the hyper fast digital connectivity humanity has experienced for the first time, and which has also been used to document all this in an information overflow manner.

Fascism. So I would probably also end up banning myself hypothetically, since this post says I would be a dictator. Dictators are fascists.

Checkmate.

An actual pit where whoever falls just keeps falling endlessly, never dies but can also never live again…

So, why are all of you feeling scared about falling into that kind of pit IRL?

Here are some tips, then, from my side, since I am from India.

  • Eat a bowl of curd/yogurt twice a day, both meals. Yes, during night as well.
  • Try adjusting yourself to just using fans in summers and only use the cooler or AC during bedtime. Exceptions are when the temperatures become over 43C, use AC for 30 minutes twice during daytime, if your room is on the outside part of a house or apartment.
  • Just like curd, try having more dairy or other non-dairy coolant foods throughout the day, anything with electrolytes works too.

It was an exaggerated joke about the “mike hawk” labelling. Do not worry, we good!

Why did you do this to me? I have nothing to do with any such thing.

Have these people ever heard of a gamcha you can use to keep yourself cool? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamucha

They can also have more electrolyte and cool foods to overcome such problems. Even peppermint and mint tablets work well.

Every social network can breed problems because this is how humans are - a mega colossal mixed bag. What matters is how you perform moderation to ensure minimal conflicts, and/or what kind of community do the heads desire.

Lemmy has become infected with the Reddit illnesses already (neglect of nuanced moderation besides political addressing, Reddit style hivemind voting, posters willingly discarding morality) but certain things like trolling and harassment are somewhat decently dealt with. The problem is that Lemmy still lacks a large userbase, and yet these problems are flourishing.

I have no idea, I came on Lemmy about 2 years ago. This sounds very weird.

The amount of Russophobia and anti Russian censorship ongoing currently on Reddit is astounding.

I am observing a very similar sentiment to Sinophobia, now regarding Russia. Reddit’s audience is primarily 80% USA + West EU, and the rest 20% also includes a lot of East Europe and other countries, leaving for 5-10% anti-hatred people. On the other hand, Western world makes up for a mere 12% of th…

What are easy to present criticisms of mainstream outlets like BBC and CNN?

While it is easy to use phrases like “use critical thinking”, this is not easy for elders or cousins in families to be told, as this is not lucid to understand in a snap. It is essential for criticism to be easily communicable to ordinary people that watch Google Feed or MSN News daily, and I feel t…
