The silver lining is that we’ll no longer have to hear little kids screaming into their mics in online games.

If it’s any consolation, I’m in an 8-unit owner-occupied condo rn and my kitchen ceiling collapsed last week because the HOA refused to fix a roof leak for almost two years. So now what should have been a couple hundred dollar roof patch is thousands of dollars coming out of my HOA payments.
It’s really interesting that rent can only raise by a small amount each year there. I’m rolling around in my head whether that would work in the US. What happens when the assessed value of the property raises over the years and causes the taxes to skyrocket? Do the landlords just sell the place in that case? I could see that being a good way to keep the market moving and give people a chance to enter owner-occupied homeownership.

Short-form video is destroying attention spans and critical thinking skills. The level of brainrot I see in people who are hooked on Tiktok or other platforms is staggering. “I saw 500 10-second videos about this topic and now believe it with every ounce of my being, because the algorithm specifically pushes this particular point of view.” seems to be a common occurrence these days.

Keep trying. For science.

I was crossing my fingers for Hunter Schafer, but the casting they chose looks pretty decent. They’re a bit younger than I expected but I guess it’s lore accurate.

I picked up FFIX and installed the Moguri mod. I thought people were overhyping it, but it really is like playing the game for the first time again. 10/10 would recommend.
That’s a yikes from me dawg.

I think it’s interesting that Microsoft is leaning into Windows on Xbox devices. It lends credibility to the rumor that the next Xbox console will run Steam natively.

No. 34 million current gamepass subscribers. 40% of Xbox gamers are from US, so roughly 13.6 million subs in the US. There’s 131 million US households, thus 1 in 10.

40% of Xbox gamers are from the US. The US has 132 million households. That means that roughly 1 in 10 US households currently has a Gamepass sub. Hope that puts it into perspective.

PS Plus is closer to Xbox Live than Xbox Gamepass. Xbox Live had 40-50 million subs at the time in 2020.
Presently Xbox Live has 120 million users vs 33 million PS Plus Essentials subscribers. Gamepass has 34 million subs vs 14 million higher-tier PS Plus subs. Even if we drop Nintendo into the mix, Gamepass has an equal number of subs to Nintendo Online members. Seems like they’re doing just fine.

They hit 10 million subs 5 years ago. Not sure what your definition of “lots” is…

Amazing how I’ve been hearing the same thing since the service released 8 years ago. Will it eventually get shitty? Probably. But in the meantime it’s a phenomenal value.

+1 for Inscryption. I started playing it blind because I saw it was a card battler. The twist left my jaw on the floor.
I only like open world games when I can really immerse myself into roleplaying. Oblivion and FFXI (if that counts) were perfect for this style of playing. Most open world games just don’t hit the mark, unfortunately, and I’d rather play a linear game that feels like reading a good book.
Howdy yinzer, glad your outage wasn’t too bad. May 6 is rough.
Still nothing here :( ETA is Tuesday
Yes sorry, Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, a few hours west of Washington DC
SNES and PSX era RPGs. It’s hard for me to sit in the same spot on the couch for turn based games with repetitive gameplay, but it feels like less of a chore when it’s just something I’m doing to pass time while lounging in bed. I’m playing through FFI pixel remaster now and really couldn’t imagine myself playing it on a TV.
